CHALLENGES

According to customer feedback, Unisol’s Fiber Optic Patch Panel/ LIU is not operational, preventing communication with SCADA Panels

HOW THE SOLUTION HELPED CUSTOMER

Problem Identification

Our engineers visited the site and found the below problems:
1. The Fiber Optic Patch Panel/LIU was not properly installed.
2. Adapters and pigtails are not connected properly.
3. Mismatch in color coding of the fiber core (1 to 1).
4. Most of the dust caps were removed from connectors

Solutions:

1. We did OTDR testing on all the fibre cable and found out where the link is getting struck in
between.
2. Laser light testing on each core to ensure all the cores are working properly.
3. We reassembled all the adapters and pigtails.
4. Rerun the OTDR and laser light testing and ensure that all 3 links are working satisfactorily
